Potty Training

 

We have been attempting the potty training thing at our house.  She will sit on it at specific times both at home and at school but hasn't quite figured out what to do while she is there.

Jenna had her 15 month well visit.
She is 21 lbs 8 oz and 30 inches long
Jenna is such a happy little girl.  Her teeth have really started to come in and all at once. 
Her favorite thing to do while waiting was tearing the paper on the exam table to pieces. 
2 shots and some routine lab work and we were back home.
The doctor called my phone at about 6.  My heart nearly stopped when I saw her name come up.  The only thing I thought was something must be wrong with the blood work.  Doctors don't call when everything is normal.  So why is she calling?  Whew, our doctor is just that great and called to say she looked over the blood work and everything was normal.

I had left my shoes out from a wedding we went to over the weekend.  I walked in my room to find Lindsey trying to walk around in them and looking at her pretty self in the mirror.

Cross Country

Brooke had her 1st cross country meet last night.

We are having trouble finding something to keep her interested and engaged in. I am not so sure we are going to be able to get her to stick with soccer past this season. She doesn't like going and usually doesn't seem to change her mind once she is there. Brooke doesn't seem to like that she has to fight over a ball. She is happy to kick it around when she has it but she isn't going to try and take it from someone. Cross country was nice because she doesn't feel like she is head on competing with someone.  She had fun running along with her friends.

1st grade field trip

Brooke had her 1st grade field trip this week. They went to the apple orchard. They learned all about how apples grow while on hay ride out to pick their own apples.

After the apple picking fun they stopped off to the barn for some apple cider and doughnuts.  Yum!

Once they had their snack they were able to see how the cider and the doughnuts are made.  Most of the kids thought the cider making process was pretty gross looking. 

The kids all had lunch and then had free time to play at the orchard. 

There was a side to one of the barns filled will bails of hay for the kids to play on.
The kids all made sweatshirts at school to wear on their field trip.

Brooke was yelling, "I am Queen of the world" before she jumped.

I am pretty sure the goat knows there are treats in that dispenser.

Sitting on the big tractor.  There were all sorts of little ride on tractor type bikes all around the big tractor for the kids to ride.

We had such a great time spending the morning together.  Brooke didn't want to get back on the bus when it was time to go.

Eye Dr

Lindsey had her 6 month checkup with the eye doctor. He thought her crossing and vision has improved. He does still think as she grows she will be nearsighted and require glasses. All I know is for now we are free and clear of the glasses fight.

Go Team Go!

Brooke really wanted to cheer along with the high school girls. They were able to cheer the entire 1st half of the football game. The girls had a practice the week before and the night of the game. I wasn't certain Brooke was going to actually do it. She has always been one to stand there with a scowl on her face when it came to class performances. I have been looking for ways to get her less nervous about performing in front of people.  She seemed to love the older girls and had a great time out there cheering with them. 

 

I don't have much for pictures because the stands were packed and I had both little ones with me.  Not something I would recommend at a football game.  Thank goodness Kelly was there or things would have been a little more challenging and there may not be any pictures or much time to watch.

Jenna had a great time wiggling in my arms and walking around outside.  I on the other hand thought my arm was going to fall off just after walking them in from the car and waiting in line to get in. 

 

Brooke had a fantastic time.  So even if my arm was going to fall off with 2 kids at a football game I would have to raise my other one up with her and chant, "Go Team".

Jenna

Jenna is growing so fast.  She looks like such a big girl climbing up in these chairs to play at the table with some puzzles.

 

I love the sight of a new walker around the house.  The way Jenna toddles around the house just makes me smile.

Jenna loves sunglasses and hats.  She will bring them to you to put them on her.  Once she has them on they don't come off till they fall off.  Once that happens she toddles back to you to put them back on her.

 

The tunnel and the big climbing play mats were brought back up from the basement.  All the girls had fun.  It's nice bringing out the old toys and seeing how to them it seems new again.

 

 

 

Lindsey's First Day of Preschool

Lindsey has the hang of this preschool thing. She didn't forget how much she loved to see the bus waiting out front.

Happy to be buckled in and ready to go. 
She has a new teacher this year and seems to be doing very well with the transition.

 

Her IEP meeting is coming up this week. We already have to start Kindergarten transition planning.  Eeek! 

Cedar Point Overload

We spent Labor Day at Cedar Point.

After all the excitement for the festivals they have been to over the summer there was no doubt the girls would love cedar point.  This was a whole new experience for me.  Working there for three summers while in college I had passes.  We would come and go all summer long waiting in long lines under the sun.  I never imagined trying to spend a whole day there and not leaving Camp Snoopy.  I may have been on the kiddie rides but I had more fun with them than I ever did on any roller coaster.  The smiles and giggles that came from all three girls was beyond exciting.  Something a first steep drop or a fast take off could never replace.  I was happy to spend the day at Camp Snoopy!

Brooke was equally excited to see how happy the rides made Lindsey.

Jenna's first "big" ride.  the balloons.  The guy said she just had to be able to walk.  That she could do but there were no belts and this thing spins.  Made me a little nervous once we were going.  Nothing like the Mom arm seat belt.  They loved it.

We stopped for some dancing fun at the Camp Snoopy Theatre.  Lindsey danced along side the gang the whole time.

 

Brooke thinks she is most like Linus since he carries his blanket everywhere.
