No Where to Hide

The dogs will go under our bed knowing that they won't be bothered. Not anymore, Brooke found their hiding spot and now there is no "safe place". Brooke kept lifting up the dust ruffle and laughing at Nala. Eventually, Nala gave up and crawled out.

What I hope Brooke will say about me when she is 16...

You Will Be a Cool Parent

You seem to naturally know a lot about parenting, and you know what kids need.

You can tell when it's time to let kids off the hook, and when it's time to lay down the law.

While your parenting is modern and hip, it's not over the top.

You know that there's nothing cool about a parent who acts like a teenager... or a drill sergeant!
Amanda is also going to be a cool parent.....

Nothing better then sitting back with your feet up and eating a chocolate chip cookie with a sippy cup full of milk.

Pictures of Toddlers?

Impossible! Many of you may have noticed that the "posed" pictures I used to get of Brooke have become profile or back views of her as she passes by. There is nothing more frustrating then the perfect picture moment ruined because she is just "too busy" to wait for the long shutter delay.

Another Product Rave

Munchkin Snack Catcher

No more spilled snacks on the floor or car seat. Our clever Snack CatcherTM cup keeps bite-sized snacks inside the container until little fingers pull them out. Even if it tips over! The soft flaps make it easy to access and the little finger cleaning bumps are a special plus for keeping nearby surfaces cleaner. This is one snack holder that will catch your attention...and keeps messes to a minimum!
I tried the Gerber Snack trap but these are much better. Brooke did try to pull the lid off with her teeth but with a little coaching on how it worked she figured it out. She carries it all over the house without me worried that she will dump it for the dogs.
Munchkin Stay-Put Suction Bowls
If you’ve had it with flying, tipped over bowls, we have good news. Our trio of infant and toddler bowls have a permanently attached suction base that grips a surface and won’t let go without your help. Each bowl has a matching stay tight lid so you can store leftovers. These aren’t just great food savers…they’re great time savers, too!
Seriously, they do stick. It is great for putting cut up fruit, snacks, etc and bam attach to just about any surface and it won't let go.

Elmo, Elmo, Elmo...

You are cutting in on Mommies computer time.
Just kidding, its always Brooke time around here.

Anyone else love Elmo as much as Brooke? Visit the Sesame Street site I have listed on my sidebar. You can pick which character and there are tons of little snipits that Brooke adores.
I will take Elmo any day over Barney or Teletubbies.

Phantom Laughing Highchair

I couldn't wait till tomorrow to post this. Grandma might need this one about now. Over a month and no Brooke. I could hardly hold back with her excitement and laughter.

Are you Ready for Swimsuit Season?

No? Not me either. Brooke is ready. Which way to the pool? Thanks Grandma Szparka for the bathing suit and coverup for Valentine's Day.

Only a parent would say...

This one is funny since Brooke manages to go down for naps with pants on but when she wakes up; no pants, no socks.

With each set of teeth brings a runny nose. I can't tell you how many times I have thought this.

For more laughs....

Baby Blues Parenting Comic Strip
I was searching on the internet last night and found this cute website that offers a humorous depiction of parenting woes and kid perspectives in a comic strip. The website is Baby Blues and when you need a chuckle, check it out. I tried to post a few that I could relate to but it doesn't look like they allow you to post their comics. There was some funny stuff.

Turn off the lights!

Seriously, I am trying to sleep.
The evening nap was lasting a little too long, it was going on 7 and she goes to bed around 8:30. Geez, where did she get her sleeping habits? Not sure what she is doing with her naps. I think she may be trying to cut one of them out. We will have to see if it is just the molars causing the problem or if she needs just the one nap.

Words to Live By

"The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, for children grow up, we've learned to our sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs, dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep."

Does this count for cooking and laundry?

Maize is the only one around here that is not sick of the snow.

100 Day Writers Strike Has Ended!

Yahoo, now I can get back to being a couch potato. Just kidding, but I am excited to see a few of my favorites back. The broadcasters estimate that it will take about 6-8 weeks to return to full production.

Happy Birthday Aunt Christa

Toofers

Brooke is up to 9 toofers!
The Upper Teeth are in the lead.

Upper: 6
Lower:3
I noticed the irritablity started on Thursday. I immediately tried to feel around her mouth looking for the culprit and thought I may have felt something. Brooke is certainly not a fan of me sticking my finger in her mouth and feeling around on her sore gums. Can you blame her? Last night I tried again and definately felt something. I was expecting more teeth on the bottom. What I found were molars, my baby has molars! Brookes first upper molars have made their debut. Chomp, Chomp!
Other primary tooth eruption facts:
A general rule of thumb is that for every 6 months of life, approximately 4 teeth will erupt.
Girls generally precede boys in tooth eruption
Lower teeth usually erupt before upper teeth
Teeth in both jaws usually erupt in pairs ? one on the right and one on the left
Primary teeth are smaller in size and whiter in color than the permanent teeth that will follow
By the time a child is 2 to 3 years of age, all primary teeth should have erupted
Shortly after age 4, the jaw and facial bones of the child begin to grow, creating spaces between the primary teeth. This is a perfectly natural growth process that provides the necessary space for the larger permanent teeth to emerge. Between the ages of 6 and 12, a mixture of both primary teeth and permanent teeth reside in the mouth.

Taking Candy From a Baby....

What was I thinking? I wanted to get a cute Valentine's Day shot to share with everyone and instead I created a MONSTER! This sucker is gigantic and she wanted to carry the sticky thing all over the place. No way, so I would sit her down on a sheet, up she would go running carring this sticky yummy thing on a stick. After sitting her down a few times I thought she might figure it out but no off she would go leaving a pink sticky trail. In the end, I just had to take it away from her. She was not pleased! Stay tuned for the end product.

Got Milk?

This is what Brooke pulled out of the fridge and carried it all the way to the family room.

She must have been thirsty!

Nala wasn't always fat

Maybe this is a contributing factor:

If Brooke is eating this is Nala's stand. Maize, she could care less. Nala just sits and waits for Brooke to drop something for her to scarf up. Brooke thinks it's hilarious, and soon Nala is the only one eating. Annoying at times. If I put Nala outside and she finds out that Brooke is in her high chair she sits at the back door whining and barking. What a begger!

Bully

Just as I was done laughing a Tim for getting beat up by Brooke she goes and gives me a bloody lip. Last night she was laying on my chest trying to get comfortable, turning her head side to side. Once she decided which side she wanted, BAM, head butt. My top tooth went right through my bottom lip. There was blood everywhere, I didn't think it was ever going to stop. Guess she is showing us that Brooke Rules!

The Next Best Thing

Table Toppers! The weather is really starting to get to me so Tim decided we should all go out to walk around the mall and to dinner. I was secretly thinking, "There is no way taking a toddler to a public restaurant is going to help ". The entire time I was expecting the worst. Once we got there the hostess sat us in what seemed to be a kids section with crayons. I say that because we were surrounded by toddlers in high chairs. Brooke won't seem too bad if she throws a fit, right? Tim pulled out one of our new handy dandy table toppers to try out. They have adhesive on the back so they stick to the tables and cute designs. That way I can put her food right on the mat and not have to worry about dishes flying or germs. It worked out great, Brooke was able to eat off the kids menu and my food wasn't boxed up to eat once I got home. She even received compliments from the tables around us about how cute and good she was. I can't believe I ordered food off the kids menu for my little "baby". It turned out to be a nice little treat for everyone.

For all you bad typers out there

Ok, so I accidentaly typed in the wrong address and kept bringing up a mega site about bible studies:
www.timandkelli.blogpsot.com
I did it over and over again starting to panic until I finally realized it was just my terrible typing skills. Like my grammer isn't bad enough.

Seriously, anyone else having trouble with the spellcheck working? I apologize if my spelling has been atrocious, I have learned to depend on spellcheck. Where did I put that dictionary anyway?

Say CHEEEESE....

The hair is slowly growing. If it took over a year to get this much, I might be able to send her to kindergarten with pigtails.
