So is so cute

It has been 3 months and the "she is so cute" comments haven't stopped yet. Brooke is in love with her baby sister.  We shall revisit these posts once Jenna is getting in Brooke's stuff.

3 Month Pictures

Brooke wanted a picture with her sister.

Apple Picking

Fall is here. What better way to celebrate the cool temperatures than going apple picking. We love MacQueens and have been apple picking there every fall since I was pregnant with Lindsey.  The evening always ends with yummy doughnuts and apple cider before dinner.
It is always a good time wandering through the rows of different apples.
We have been passing around the back to school germs in our house which led to Lindsey needing antibiotics.  The rest of us just had a virus the lingered.  Needless to say antibiotics usually lead to what we call "fire butt" and all out cranky Lindsey.  So apple picking wasn't on her agenda.  Once she screams Jenna screams.

I am not sure how many apples Brooke ate while out there.  I will just settle with a lot.

Climbing the big trees.

The extent of apple picking with Lindsey this year.  Happy in the van with a movie.  All battle not worth fighting.  I wasn't going to win.

Jenna Stats

Jenna had her 3month well visit.  She is 12 ponds 6 oz and 24 inches long.  She has a big ol' head coming in at the 89th percentile.  The back to school germs have invaded our house but the she assured me it was fine for her to get her 2 vaccines.  The girl cried her eyes out and received 2 princess band aids.  The nurse even gave her 4 stickers so she could take them home to share with her sisters.

Sleeping habits

Other than the obvious of a new baby one other reason for the blog slacker is the nap struggle. I used to get a whole lot done while Lindsey napped. She figured out one day that it would be fun to get out of bed again. A habit we broke her of way back before Jenna came along. Now it is not so easy to put her back to bed every 5 seconds everyday for a half hour nap time and bedtime while trying to care for a newborn.

These two I were taken the same day.  The above is nap time.  She likes to take her clothes off at nap time.  Below is bedtime.  Both times she eventually gave up and fell asleep by the gate.  Smart girl to take a pillow with her.

In addition to taking her clothes of her also enjoys emptying the bookshelf and all of her dresser drawers before falling asleep slumped over on Violet.  Kinda reminds me of a Where's Waldo picture.  She is quick to the mayhem and on this particular day she closed her door so while I though silence meant she was sleeping only meant the mayhem was behind a closed door to muffle the noise.  Imagine my surprise to open the door and find this....

Brooke will sometimes ask to sleep with Lindsey.  These girls probably kicked each other all night.

Jenna 3 Months

My baby Jenna is 3 months already!
She has grown so much already.  Jenna loves to smile and will have a conversation with you.  Baby talk that is.  She gibber jabbers like crazy and it is the cutest thing.  She is getting better with sleeping at night.  We put her to bed around 9 and she wakes up sometime around 3 to eat and again around 7.  Brooke loves having a baby sister.  She likes to do this thing she calls babysitting.  She wants me to put Jenna on a blanket in her room with some toys.  Brooke usually reads her some books or colors. That is what she calls babysitting Jenna.  Lindsey wants to help with Jenna but she needs some help with it.  She wants to give her the pacifier anytime she notices that it is not in her mouth.  Problem is she doesn't always aim for the mouth.  Jenna pretty much is full time sleeping in her crib now.  We have just started trying to put her to bed not swaddled in her sleep sacks.  She was breaking out of it and her legs were looking a little scrunched.  Jenna really is such a good baby.  We all just love her!

Brooke's 1st Soccer Game

Brooke had her first soccer game on Saturday. She said she was scared to go but you could tell there was some excitement behind it. I think it really helps that they group the teams by schools. She was excited when I told her one of her friends from class would be on her team. It was so funny to watch the girls run around the field. Most with not a clue. Running the wrong way, looking at each other puzzled, and kicking the ball away from their teammates. Too funny and all in good fun. Needless to say Brooke scored a goal. We weren't sure if she was the one that kicked it in but the excitement on her face when she turned around looking at us answered the question. Yep, she scored the goal.

She had a turn playing goalie.  To which she told us after the game is scary and she kept closing her eyes.  She blocked a couple so they couldn't have been closed the whole time.

Good game girls!

Jenna

Jenna has found her hand. and she tries to put the whole thing in her mouth.

Her personality is starting to blossom.  She is awake for longer periods of time.  Jenna like to flash a smile when you talk to her or give you the serious I'm checking you out face.

My house is now full of another voice.  She is cooing all those cute baby noises.

Brooke's First Homework

Brooke brings home homework every Monday that is due by Friday.  This was her first assignment.  She had to color the pictures and then cut out the smiley and frown faces.  Once they were all cut she glued the faces in the appropriate boxes. A+ Girl!

Lindsey's 1st Day of Preschool

Lindsey had her first day of preschool this morning.

She wasn't at all thrilled with the rain and refused to walk to the bus.
Once in the shelter of the bus she was excited.

Last year Brooke rode the bus right next to Lindsey everyday. We wondered what she would think being all by herself this year.  I think she looks pretty happy.

She came home with blue marker on her hands and arms so it must have been a fun morning.

Labor Day

Labor Day always seems to be the end for the summer.  The girls are back to school, the nighs are cooler, and the days will soon be shorter.  It has been nice to have my weekends back all summer.  While I do miss a lot I don't miss as much time with my girls.  The majority of time I am at work they are asleep.  I must go back to work next weekend and then my weekends will become work nights all over again.  I haven't been able to get to Chris and Melissa's in years.  Most of the gatherings are on the weekends so Tim is on his own.  The days have changed from trying to throw a couple guys off the tubes to keeping their kids on the tubes.  Ah, all grown up.
