Coloring Easter Eggs

Easter is sneaking up on us fast. Last night we pulled out the good old PAAS easter egg coloring kits and went to work coloring all the hard boiled eggs.

Lindsey was more than happy to help.

Not so happy to wait for the eggs to lay in their color bath.
The girl was on a mission and patience weren't part of her plan.

Brooke is always excited to color eggs. Her favorite color is green right now so everything has to be green.

Wordless Wednesday

Like summer in March

Last week was beautiful! It was like summer in March. So hot that Brooke played outside in her bathing suit one afternoon. Tim has been tearing out all the overgrown junk in the back and finishing the deck. Brooke was happy to put on her gloves and get dirty. Until she saw a "BUUUUGGGG". And she was done.

The water table already made an appearance.

Warm weather also brings tea parties outside.

This morning they were back in winter coats to get on the bus. Windows are closed and the heat is back on in the house. We will take what we can get. I fear what August will bring.

Circus

A first circus experience for us. It was a perfect time to go. The place was wide open. The experience was complete with all the circus animals, acrobats, and clowns. Of all the acts which one do you think would get this girl beyond excited?

4 dirtbikes racing in circles in a cage. I was laughing so hard at her I was crying.

The clown asked Brooke to help him pedal.

Lindsey loved all the music and lights. It was smack right in the middle of nap time. She was almost asleep at one point during the show. Once the lights and music kicked up she was up again. Lindsey didn't last long in the car ride home though.

They told us

I recently had a conversation with Lindsey's teacher. She was updating me on how school was going for Lindsey. One thing she mentioned is how much Lindsey likes the sink.

So wasn't surprised when Tim said smarty pants pulled Brooke's stool up to the sink and was trying to wash her hands all on her own.

I didn't believe it till he showed me the evidence.

Spring??

While it may not be Spring it sure does feel and look like Spring. The flowers are ready to pop. There were even tulips in my house. Brooke insisted on getting Tim flowers for his birthday. "Because boys like flowers too ya know."

Lindsey enjoys riding around the yard inch by inch. She keeps the button down a little bit longer every time.

Oh but the Elmo bubbles are the icing on the cake for Lindsey.

Tim and Greg pounded out the swing set for the girls on a sunny Tuesday.

Brooke was so excited to see it built. She was selling pretend ice cream cones from the window while they were working. When she left for preschool the next morning she had to tell it how much she would miss it while she was gone.

Easter Wreath

Brooke loves to do foam crafts. She had already completed her Easter egg wreath. This was the first time I grabbed two crafts while we were out. I was't sure if Lindsey would sit long enough to do it or if the sticky foam pieces would send her in a screaming "I'm not touching that" mode. I was so happy to have the girl prove me wrong. I sat back peeling the backs off and let her pile them on top of each other leaving open spots. I wanted to look at their wreaths as one of their own, not what I thought they should be.

Everytime she got that tiny sticky thing off her hand and on the wreath she clapped and cheered.

Turns out the girl loves her some foam crafts.

Happy Birthday Tim

Sunday was Tim's Birthday. I picked up Tim Horton's for him on the way home from work and we celebrated at breakfast time.

He enjoyed the day with his girls playing candy land, reading books, and having a movie night together. Hopefully we can get a date night Friday and go out to dinner.

Cookie cake for breakfast along with Timbits. Yum!

These things don't last long in our house.
