Brooke's Homework

This was a project the teacher sent home with us at the parent conference.  The kids could color or choose a picture for baby, toddler, and kindergartner.

Striking resemblance

We see Brooke in Jenna all the time.  Digging through pictures for a school project of Brooke's I came across this picture.  Striking resemblance.

Preschool Open House

Lindsey had her preschool open house. She picked up like she had never left. Her teachers all remain the same so she was happy to see them.  I like to think they were just as happy to see her.   She searched out and flipped through her favorite books and toys.

She pulled her stool right up to the easel and colored away.

I think she is pretty excited to go back to school.

While Brooke is away

Lindsey enjoys being able to play with out Brooke yelling in her ear.  She has been going after the Zhu Zhu pets.  For whatever reason she puts them in oven and microwave of their kitchen.  She thinks it is just the funniest thing ever.  Brooke would not be pleased.

Brooke's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Yesterday was Brooke's 1st day of Kindergarten.
For breakfast all she wanted was an apple or blueberry jelly doughnut for Syd's.
And didn't want her picture taken.

I broke down and went against my no character rule and let her pick the Olivia back pack.  A girl only goes to Kindergarten once.

It was pouring down rain in the morning for drop off.  We live so close to the school that she is considered a walker.  That morning we had to drive for drop off.  Everyone was huddled near the doors taking pictures of their Kindergartener.  Brooke said she was scared but did really good lining up with her class and was happy to see a friend from preschool was in her class.  She was ready for Kindergarten.  I don't think it has hit me or I am missing that gene of the shock and crying many parents talk about with the Kindergarten drop off.  I think the no bus riding still gives me a sense of control taking her to school.  I thought about her a lot that day.  Wondering what she was doing.  Would they go outside for recess?  Would someone help her get the lid off the pudding pack if she had trouble?  Is she participating or sitting quiet?  The afternoon was warm and sunny.  I walked to pick her up.  All we do is walk down the field in the back yard.  Some days we can hear the faint recess chatter from the kids. It was nice walking with Brooke on the way home.  It gave us a few minutes to talk about her day.

She was excited to show me everything in her backpack.

I made her oatmeal raisin cookies for her first day home after Kindergarten.  They are one of her favorites.  I hope to keep this tradition for after each first day of school.

She had a good day.  She told me about her 3 friends, eating lunch with her class, and green day.
Her favorite time of the day?  Quiet/Rest time.
She is happy to go back today.

A 1st Birthday Party for Twins

Jeff and Jessica are back in town for good.  We are so excited to have them close again and for our kids to be able to play together.  Lauren and Rachel celebrated their 1st Birthday in their new house.  They are so darn cute and had a ton of fun.

Jenna had a good time chillin on the lounger while the bigger kids played.

Tomorrow she starts Kindergarten

Tomorrow my first baby will start Kindergarten. All day Kindergarten.  I am still not sure how either one of us will do tomorrow walking to school.  I will have lots of pictures tomorrow.
Brooke looking to see who her teacher is and if she will know anyone in her class.

Conference day.  Brooke's teacher is Mrs. Kripke.  She is what you imagine every Kindergarten teacher to be.   Everything is unicorns and rainbows.  The look the voice and Brooke already loves her.  They kids all colored pictures while the teacher went through all the details of kindergarten with the parents.  Brooke colored a picture of a rainbow and Mrs. Kripke to give her once we were done.

Maumee Parade

Last weekend we participated in the Maumee parade. We walked with the DSAGT to show our support and raise awareness for Down syndrome.

Brooke throwing candy from the back of the truck.
The theme was animals so all the kids had animal hats.

Lindsey had monkey ears but wasn't going to keep them on.
She had fun getting to ride in her wagon.

Fire station tour

The girls went to the see the firemen and take a tour of the local fire station.
Lindsey had a great time.  It is known that Lindsey like the boys.  She is a daddy's girl wants any guy she spots to pick her up.  Especially the tall guys including the one at the Verizon store.  The girl loves her some tall fireman.

One of them put on full gear so the kids would see what he would look like if he came looking for them in a fire.  Lindsey was so curious touching and laughing at him.  No worries that she would be scared of him.

Bath time Fun

I have lots of posts to catch up on.  Picture overload to come.
Until then I leave you with a cutie in the bathtub.

Miss Lindsey

Lindsey had her picture taken for the 2013 DSAGT calendar. I must say she is pretty darn cute!

2 month stats

Jenna had her 2 month well visit August 17th. She weighed in at 10lbs 15oz She is now 22.5 inches

Jenna had the Rotovirus oral vaccine and the Pediarix vaccine.
She cried pretty good after the shot but was able to calm down once I held her.  Brooke was with me and is still terrified of shots after her 5 year well visit so I had to warn her before we even went to the appointment.  Brooke walked out with two sucker and Jenna had a Barbie band aid for her boo boo.

Jenna's Baptism

Jenna had her Baptism on August 5th. It was a beautiful day and she was a perfect angel. She was the only baby that day so we had the whole church to ourselves. She looked beautiful in the same baptism gown her sisters wore.
I packed what I like to call the busy bag.  It is filled with sticker books that are saved for these occasions and a toy of their choice.  Not sure Brooke needed it.

Jenna didn't mind the water at all.  She seemed to enjoy it at first.
