Hot and Sleepy with Lack of Posts

That has been the weather forecast lately. The weather has been hot all week and we have spent most of our days outdoors.

Brooke has pretty much quit with the naps and goes to bed earlier.
After a long day of fun in the sun I feel the same way.
I have plenty more outdoor fun pictures to share. I hopefully will work on getting some scheduled this weekend.

May showers?

April showers bring May flowers? How about April and May showers? There has been so much rain everything is green. Brooke wants to water everything and doesn't quite get that the rain already watered it every.single.day it seems. She does however love her gardening gloves and doesn't mind getting a little dirty or even the worm that she finds digging through the earth. Amazing considering this is the girl that screams at a piece of lint on the floor that slightly resembles a bug.

Brooke Builds A Bear

Brooke made a bear for Lindsey shortly after she was born. She hasn't stopped talking about Build A Bear and gets excited every time we walk past it in the mall. She received gift cards for her birthday way back in November and we were just waiting for a rainy day to go out and do something with them. We have seen a lot of rain and she found the gift cards hanging on the refrigerator. Out we went so she could build her very own bear.

Here she is helping stuff her bear.
Lindsey was thrilled with the stuffing part. She has this thing with the vacuum. I really need to get it on video because she squeals and laughs so hard at the vacuum. Most kids cry with the vacuum but not Lindsey. She cries when I turn it off.
Lindsey has a sound thing that is of her heartbeat at the 20 week ultrasound.
I was trying to think of something for Brooke to do to make her bear special.
We decided for her to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Now you will always hear Brooke singing when she was 3.

Heart Ceremony to bring her bear to life.

Getting her all nice and clean.

Dressing her bear
Naturally she would dress her as a princess.

Brooke named her new best friend Sleeping Beauty

Taking Sleeping Beauty home in her condo

Brooke had a wonderful time and has been carrying Sleeping Beauty around with her all day.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day always brings the best homemade gifts your kids can make. Brooke made me this flower pot at the Mother's Day project they were doing at the gym's Kid's Club. Tim took her up there were it was a whole 2-3 hour extravaganza of pizza and activities ending with the kids making a flower pot for Mom.
The wonderful artwork only a proud Mother would display in the middle of her kitchen window sill.

My vent

Just a little vent last night about the glasses. I'm over it. It is what it is. Things could be much worse. Thanks for listening.

Many faces of Lindsey

All it takes is one smile at Lindsey and she will give you a smile right back. I don't even have to say anything. Her personality shines and she really is such a happy girl. She has all these funny expressions and faces that she makes. Each one has a sound effect that goes right along with it.

This look is always accompanied by her loud playful screeeeaaam.

Grow on us?

I'm not going to lie, I am not liking the glasses. It's not the glasses themselves just glasses period. They were in last week but when I went to pick them up they were ginormous so they ordered the next size down. Tim took her this time and it took them forever just to get them on her long enough to have them fitted. They left with a ball to keep her occupied and a few good lucks. I still feel like they are huge on her face and I just plain don't like it :( They are what is best for her and that is all that matters. We as parents do what is best for our children. Dr appointments, speech therapy, physical therapy, ear tubes, tear duct probed, and now glasses. I'm just not liking it and she is not happy with them either. The moment she can get her hands up to her face off they come. It is going to take some time for both of to get past these glasses. Until then baby steps and trying to get her to keep them on for just 30 minutes a day.

Art Museum

Last week was full of gloomy rainy days. This week hasn't started out that great either. Kinda felt like winter again being cooped up in the house trying to figure out what to do to keep a 3 year old entertained minus the movies. Her latest thing is the Strawberry Shortcake movies. That is all she wants to do. Ugh! After we painted on day #1 rain and played with play doe on day #2 we tried out the Art Museum on gloomy Day #3. Brooke always has a great time playing and they always have some sort of activity/craft. A friend had been there a few days before and said they were doing a neat bead craft she thought Brooke would really enjoy. Brooke was happy to paint wooden beads that would be added to the Bead Goes On project at the museum.

No trip is complete without painting at the easel. She has three pictures to be divied up among Grandma and Grandpa, Grandma and Papa, and Great Grandma "scooter" as she described her that day.

Lindsey had a great time playing with the musical instruments.

Everything is so much more fun when you dressed like Tinkerbell and as many beads as you can find around your neck. She was so bummed that there were no shoes to dress up in. You can't see in this picture but on the other shoulder there are 3 purses. She has already figured out that a girl can never have too many purses.

Jamie's Shower

I helped host a bridal shower for my dearest friend, Jamie on Saturday. It was great to see everyone together again while celebrating Jamie's upcoming marriage.

We love you, Jamie and can't wait to take on Vegas!

Cinco De Mayo

Going to play a little catch up from last week.

We went to a nice Cinco De Mayo themed playdate last week. Brooke had lots of fun with all the activities and enjoying some nice weather.
Coloring her maraca

Lindsey had a great time playing with Grace and Lily's toys.
Sitting at the table for a snack with the girls.

All the kids taking a swing at the pinata

Lindsey had PT that morning and was all tuckered out. She fell asleep on my shoulder and wasn't going to budge. I had to put her down just so I could get everything packed up and convince Brooke it was time to go.
So sweet just sucking her thumb and napping.

All the Grandkids

Everyone met up for a Mother's Day celebration at my parents house last week. Weekend work schedules don't always work out so well for getting together with everyone. My mom wanted to try and get a picture of all the grand kids together.

Four cameras and four people shouting names to get a good picture.
Easier said than done.

Tyler and Logan, seriously when did they get so old? My nephew can drive me somewhere. Now I do feel old.

Brooke as a Mommy

Brooke has become quite the little mother to Lindsey. Brooke occasionally wakes up before Lindsey or the moment she hears the smallest peep out of her she is in her room. Usually climbing in her crib and giving Lindsey toys to play with. Brooke thought Lindsey would like a little lick of her ice cream cone so she gave her a lick as she walked past to find her a toy. I was in shock. Sharing her ice cream? She may really like her little sister. The best was yesterday when Lindsey was getting into a few books. Lindsey has recently taking a liking to books and found where we keep a few downstairs. Taking them off the shelf is her favorite part. Brooke didn't think it was good and gave her a little lecture

Windsey you can't make a mess
Look at this mess Windsey
I am going to put these away and you better not get them out
Don't make a mess
If you get them out again I am going to put them up high and you won't be able to reach them
Don't make a mess Windsey
I am trying to clean up Windsey
Windsey, if you don't stop making a mess I am going to put you in time out

and there you have it parents via Brooke and according to Brooke her name is still Windsey.

Lindsey still thought it was funny to torture her sister and pull the books out.

Ah yes, and with the parenting post comes the outfit explanation. You will have to ignore any outfits that you may see on Brooke. She prefers to dress herself. I moved her panties down to the bottom dresser drawer and started putting her clothes matched up together in the drawers. Most days it has helped tremendously. She likes to take off her pull up, clean herself up, and get dressed before she leaves her room in the AM. This particular day she decided to add to the outfit that was paired up in her drawer. You see under her Christmas sweater, beads, and tutu there is a matching outfit.

Happy Mother's Day,

Sweet Ella needs your prayers

Our world has been rocked lately with bad news. I have had a serious dose of living in moment and cherish everyday. Most recently sweet little Ella has found that she going to be fighting a mean leukemia diagnosis. Ella was one of the first faces that I began to follow in this blog world when Lindsey was only months old. It breaks my heart to think about what this little girl is going to have to endure. Please keep Ella and her family in your thoughts and prayers during her courageous fight.
