Snow is all there is

The time has come. The holidays are over and the cabin fever sets in.
I so badly wanted to be able to get the girls in the stroller go for a walk. Head out to the park after dinner to play. It was dark and 29 degrees. Not exactly park weather. Inside we stayed while I tried to come up with something to keep Brooke from asking me to watch a movie over and over and from Lindsey to bat her hand at the fridge farm toy over and over. You know the one that plays you made a match look what you've found you made a match you're a ___sound. Oh so annoying but she loves it. We have a long way to go for sunshine, walks, and parks.
Why not try and have fun with the snow while we can? My sister stopped up during the week with Leah. She wanted to take her to Imagination Station. Shhh, Brooke was in preschool. Once I picked Brooke up from preschool we headed down the road to go sledding. Since the snow has stuck around so long there aren't mobs of people out sledding anymore. Makes it nice when you have moms, eh I mean kids that can't control a sled.

Daddy pulling Brooke and Lindsey up the hill
Brooke heading back down. Thank goodness we don't have pull her up the hill every time.
She LOVES IT!

Morning girl

Brooke and I enjoy our sleep. We take a little while to wake up in the morning. Lindsey, well she wakes up happy as can be ready to start the day.
I may still need my morning coffee but this smile is a great start to my day.

Imagination Station

and my horrible, terrible, no good, very bad camera phone.
We have a membership to Imagination Station that I haven't been brave enough to use yet. Something about the downtown parking and trying to keep 2 kids together in that place kept me waiting. Finally, we bit it and just went one morning. Brooke was off preschool so at the last minute I figured what the heck. Things are getting pretty boring inside. Playdoe, legos, and crafts only go so far. Brooke and Lindsey had a great time. When we first arrived I couldn't believe how many kids were there. I thought to myself another snowday? Needless to say I found out there was a field trip with over 600 5th graders.
We stuck to the kindergarten and under kidscape play area.
Brooke playing in the hospital area.
I forgot my camera so I had to use my camera phone. Next time I will know not even to bother.

Brooke shopping at the grocery store. The girl was all about buying fish and cantaloupe. Two foods I dislike very much. Lindsey even had fun taking her food in and out of her basket.

The water area. Not sure how they expected her to get any water through these things since there wasn't a cup to be found. There is also a large area that I thought Brooke would have fun playing in but she just said, no thanks and preferred to go play back in the hospital with the "babies, bones, and real computer".

Lindsey sitting up on a chair playing the tambourine. I was trying to get her to color with Brooke but neither one of them were having it.

So okay I survived. I think we will be there quite a bit until I see the light of spring.

Brooke's Preschool 2010

I am not sure if I had posted Brooke's preschool picture yet or not.

On the subject of preschool I am torn on what to do. Seems like I have forever still only we have already received paperwork to start the enrollment process for the next school year. We have been really happy with Brooke's preschool. Once Lindsey turns 3 she will start preschool. That means come late October both girls will be in preschool. We had hoped that we wouldn't be in the same school district by now but here we still are. Some good news in all this is that the district we are in is in academic probation so we could send the girls to another school. Do I put Brooke in another school that Lindsey will be going to? Do I do all this and we finally end up moving to another school district? Do I keep Brooke where she is and what she likes in hopes I can get their start/stop schedules not overlapping? Argh, I wish we could just sell and stop thinking about it.

Sledding

Snow=Sledding
The big questions is though, who had more fun Tim or Brooke?
Lindsey enjoying being pulled on her sled.
Brooke acting with no fear going down the hills, back up again only to repeat.
This lasted over 2 hours on Sunday and she was back at it on Monday.
A quick video clip of Brooke
Sorry it's a little shaky. Listen close and you can tell by the teeth grinding Tim was holding Lindsey while taking the video.

Fit for a princess

Brooke had this thing with building tents out of blankets and chairs. She hits her Uncle Greg up for one just about every time she sees him. The one day she was getting so frustrated that the chairs weren't tall enough and her roof kept caving in. She kept telling me she was trying to build a ball for her princesses.
Brooke was beyond excited when we picked up this fancy "Ball Castle" with some of her Christmas money. It took the place of the Christmas tree in our family room. You can see all the things she keeps stored in there. I have to check every night to make sure there are no mystery snacks lurking in there for the dogs to find.
Brooke is in it constantly. Last night she decided to turn it on its side. She stuck her head out the window and called it her rocket ship. Blast off!
Brooke also made what she calls the "out sign". Apparently it reads, "Out. This means you!".
Ah, imagination. I love it!

Can't Hang

Brooke had a sleepover at her Aunt Kelly's during Christmas break. Ah, the thoughts of only one child to put to bed. One child to get out of bed in the morning. One child to get dressed. One child to feed. Oh, the days of thinking one child was busy now seems like a easy task. Lindsey had other plans. No easy morning for Mommy. She was up at 5am! I am talking awake, happy, and ready to play awake. Ugh. Needless to say she didn't make it through lunch.

Lights at the Zoo

Every year we bundle up to see the Lights at the Zoo. The last few years we have been able to meet up with some friends from college that live out of town to go. I was surprised Brooke remembered when I told her they were coming. She was thrilled!
The usual picture in front of the big tree.

Lindsey loving the fish. Well, the fish and the warmer temperatures inside.
Brooke's favorite part has always been the dancing lights. She gets down with her dancing moves. I can't wait to see Lindsey up walking this time next year shaking her thing along with the music.
Riding the carousel. Lindsey wasn't much a fan and hung on for dear life to her Daddy.
Brooke picked the dolphin and although it doesn't look like in the picture she was sooooo happy.
I love getting her picture with the polar bear every year. Anytime we go in there she always asks me if she can pet him.
Another cute one of the girls dancing.
