Their own special tree

This year the girls have their own little tree in the playroom to decorate with all their special ornaments.  It is just the right size to so they can decorate the whole thing instead of just the bottom of what now Brooke likes to call the adult tree.  Say that a few times fast.  I think we need to call it something else :)

Happy Birthday Brooke

Where do I even begin to write about my first born turning 6? Can you believe it, 6 years old!!!  She is the first baby I felt kick, the first to hold in my arms, the first to walk, go to preschool, and now Kindergarten.  6 years old.  So excited to use a seat belt in the car with her booster seat.  6 years old.  Such the little artist.  Hates bedtime.  Has become afraid of everything.  In fact the original plan was to fill her room full of balloons while she slept so she would be excited to see them in the morning.  Instead I thought of the screams that may come at 4am because I am pretty sure a room full of balloons in the dark at 4am might scare me.  She convinced me to make cake pops to take to her friends at school.  6 years old.  A helper.  A fan of soccer.  Smarty pants.  Loves to finish her homework all by herself the first day she brings it home even though it isn't due till Friday.

Her dinner of choice was a chicken nugget kids meal from Wendy's and a cookie cake.  Brooke was the birthday girl, the center of attention and she turned 6 years old.  She loved to hear us sing to her and talked to everyone on the phone about how exciting her day was.

6 Years Old and I am one proud Mama of this little girl and who she has become.

Jenna's oatmeal

Jenna is what I like to call a binge eater. She has her periods of what would correctly be called cluster feeding. The morning is the worst. She sleeps so good at night that she is starving come morning. I can barely get her diaper changed without her throwing a fit to eat. My original plan was to wait until she was 6 months to start solids.  The recommendations are always changing.  Brooke was getting rice cereal at 3 months and veggies at 5 months.  Lindsey was terribly constipated with rice cereal so we skipped right over it.  Jenna is over 5 months and all signs were pointing to that she was ready.  I decided to try some oatmeal in the morning after she eats.

Not quite sure if she didn't like it or I wasn't fast enough for her.

Just Jenna

I don't have nearly as many pictures of Jenna as I do of Brooke. It is true what they say about the first born. I promise to still make Jenna a one year book and keep up with her baby book. So a few pictures of the baby.
She is all over the crib.  I probably need to put the bumper back on.

She loves to play with her toys

and her sisters make her smile

Sophie makes quite a good toy to chew on

Seriously happy.

Birthday Party

Last weekend was Brooke and Lindsey's birthday party. Brooke picked Smurfs and Lindsey is still loving on Elmo so I did a little of each.
They both loved everyone singing to them.

My flash was off so I had to do some weird things on Picasa that made the colors all funny to get it to show up.

Just a few yummy cupcakes.

Yeah, Happy Birthday to my big girls!

Oh the presents.  Brooke was thrilled with everything she received.  Every gift was filled with oh my gosh, I have wanted this, this is exactly what I told Grandma I wanted and I love it.

Excitement for sure!

Lindsey is more laid back.

She is happy with the first thing she opens and is done opening.

We are now a house with an American Girl doll.  They have been sending catalogs and Brooke is always circling things she wants for a long time.  She watched the MacKenna movie at my moms and it was all over from there.  MacKenna had to go to her soccer game and I was scolded from the bench that she couldn't see her.

I am still enjoying the leftovers

Art Portfolio

Brooke brought home her art portfolio last week from school. It was filled with all sorts of creations.

A train with watercolors and crayons

Scarecrow

Monster

Rainbow

Owl

Self Portrait

This wasn't from school but a family portrait she colored after Jenna was born.
I love how Nala is down in the corner barking.
